How to get from the Prague airport to the conference venue in Liberec

The journey consists of 3 parts:

• Across Prague from airport to station with buses bound for Liberec (Černý Most): 60 min
• Bus journey Prague - Černý Most to Liberec, stop Fügnerova-Blažkova: 65 min
• Public transportation in Liberec to Technical University: 6-8 min

Part 0. enjoy internet access at the airport and buy the Regiojet bus ticket for the journey Prague-Liberec departing around at least 90 min ahead according to the information below.

Part I. Prague Václav Havel Airport to Bus Terminal Prague Černý Most

Operational hours: 1st #59 trolleybus 4:23, last 23:33; 1st Metro A 4:45, last 23:55 (see dpp.cz)

Journey steps:

• 1. Buy ticket 40 CZK for 90 min travel at the vending machine, or Airport Public Transport Counter
• 2. Take trolleybus #59 from Terminal 2 (see map) and go to its terminus Nádraží Veleslavín: 15 min
• 2.a) go by walk few steps to Metro A station Nádraží Veleslavín (see map)
• 3. Take any metro train of Metro A line, direction Depo Hostivař, get off at the station Můstek: 10 min
• 3.a) Remain in the paid area of metro system and change to the Metro B line (follow signs and arrows)
• 4. Take any metro train of Metro B line, direction Černý most, get off at the station Černý most: 19 min

Part II. Bus Terminal Prague Černý Most - Liberec, stop Fügnerova-Blažkova:

Operational hours: 1st bus weekend 8:00/workday 7:00, last 23:00 - see regiojet.cz

Journey steps:

• 1. After getting of the Metro B, go on stairs 1 level down to reach platform for departing buses, find stop #6 (map)
• 2. Bus arrives approx. 10 min ahead. Get in by showing your ticket bar code to the driver (using e.g. your cell phone)
• 3. Bus travels approx. 65 min to Liberec, internet is available except small interruptions
• 4. Get off at the stop Liberec - Fügnerova-Blažkova (1st stop after Černý most, but not last of the bus - there is one more at the main bus terminal)

Part III. public transportation inside Liberec to Technical University:

Operation hours: 1st bus weekend 4:44, last 23:10, 1st bus workday 4:09, last 23:10 - see www.dpmlj.cz

Journey steps:

• 1. Walk few steps from the Regiojet bus stop along the public transportation terminal Fügnerova (map)
• 2. Purchase the public transportation ticket (cashier/SMS/cell phone app) - see map and instructions
• 3. Take bus #15 to dormitory - stop "Univerzitní koleje", or #15/#19 to conference venue - stop "Technická univerzita": 6-8 min

Tickets

How to purchase the tickets

Prague Public Transportation Tickets are available at the vending machines - in Metro lines and at the airport, usual bank cards are accepted. For the journey Airport - Bus Terminal Černý most, buy 40CZK ticket valid 90 min.

Regiojet = Student Agency Bus tickets The tickets can be bought directly by the driver, however risking no seat would be available. Therefore it is recommended to buy the ticket ahead online, e.g. et the aiport using free wifi. Best way is to install the app RegioJet, register there and load some small money there using the bank card. One journey to Liberec ranges between 100-150CZK. The same can be done using the web site regiojet.cz and obtain the ticket by email. Anyway the barcode is shown to the driver as the ticket evidence. The buses are equipped with partly stable internet, wc, newspapers.

Liberec Public Transportation tickets To purchase a single ride ticket, use one of the following options:

• find a vending machine and purchase the ticket for 28CZK
• use the selling counter at the terminal Fügnerova and purchase printed ticket for 34CZK
• buy the ticket by the driver (esp. early or late hours) for 34 CZK
• send SMS with the text LIB to the number +420 90206 (cost is 38CZK)
• for app fans: you can use the app DPMLJ and figure out how to buy a ticket for 28CZK
